The 5:2 Diet

Why the 5:2 Diet?

The 5:2 diet is a specific approach to weight loss, where you eat as usual five days a week and fast the last two days (500 calories a day if you are a woman and 600 calories a day if you are a man). At Nupo we suggest that you use Nupo Diet or Nupo One Meal on the days you fast, and use these products to keep between 500-700 calories per day.

Many choose this diet because it is flexible and adjustable according to your daily routines. The diet does not dictate any rules about what to eat and when however make sure to stay in your calorie range during the two days when you fast. In the other five days, you can stick to your normal diet.

How does the Diet Work?

On the five regular days, you can eat your normal diet, which of course differs from person to person, but we recommend a healthy, varied diet consisting of fruits and vegetables, and a good protein source for every meal. Choose the whole wheat alternatives to carbohydrates (for example brown rice instead of white rice) with a high amount of fiber, and keep the sugar, candy, and other sweets to a minimum. Women should stay around 2000 calories and men around 2500 calories. If you have a healthy and varied diet on your "normal" days, it will be easier to maintain that after you have ended the 5:2 diet. On your two fast days, you can try the Nupo diet, where you drink six Nupo Diet products per day, or you can try Nupo One Meal products and Protein Bites. With these products, you can eat two One Meal products and one Protein Bite on the days you fast. Whether you choose Nupo Diet or Nupo One Meal, you will get all the necessary nutrients, proteins, fibers, vitamins, and minerals you need - as well as keeping you around 500-700 calories per day.

The 5:2 Diet with Nupo

The Nupo VLCD diet, the One Meal series, and our Protein Bites are good options for meals on the days where you fast because it makes it easy to keep track of your calorie intake. The only thing you should worry about is what flavor that should be eaten or shaken for your next meal. Choose between the Nupo VLCD diet and the One Meal series:

Nupo Diet consists of soups, shakes, and oatmeal. You should eat 6 Nupo Diet products per day, which gives you approx. 700 calories per day. Nupo Diet contains all the necessary nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that your body needs during the day. When using the Nupo Diet it is important that you drink a minimum of 2-3 liters of water a day.

One Meal consists of bars, ready-to-drink shakes, and pancakes. If you eat two One Meal products and one of our delicious Protein Bites, you keep your calorie intake at around 500-600 calories per day. The One Meal products are meal replacements and contain the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals your body needs from a single meal.

It is completely up to you, to choose between Nupo Diet or One Meal on the days you fast. Our One Meal products can also be used as meal replacements on your "normal" days, for example, if you forgot your lunch or had to skip breakfast to get to work on time. Our Protein Bites can also be used on your "normal" days, as a snack or after a workout.
